I am trying to determine how to identify a 1969 Firebird Ram Air III engine (automatic). I thought that this would be a block casting #9790071 but I have seen some online charts indicating that unlike the GTO's, the 1969 Firebird 400 RA III used the RAIV block ( 9792506 ). This seams very odd to me.

Does anyone have a 1969 Firebird RA III with the YW (or even the manual WQ) code so that you could tell me what the block casting number actually is?

YT/WZ - 1969 400 (casting 9790071)

i thought all 400s had the same cast number by the dist hole anyway i use www.wallaceracing.com (http://www.wallaceracing.com) for my number crunching, it will be there check it out
