Hey all, I have a 1997 GTP with 216,000 miles. I just bought a 1998 GT hoping for the same result. However, the A/C unit makes a whinning noise as the belt goes over the pulley, only when the A/C is off. Can I fix this by replacing the A/C clutch only or do I have to replace the whole assembly? The guy I bought it form said he just replaced the belt. Is it possible that the belt is just too tight?

I would check the belt first. Then would look atthe tensioner pulley, these are suposed to be replace with the belt.
Most companies wont just sell you the clutch for the A/C anymore and you will probably have to buy a whole new compressor, and evaporator, then recharge you A/C system.
