Hey guys!

Just wanted to know what's better for the car if I'm going on vacation for a month this summer.

1) Disconnect the battery while I'm gone? And if so, which end? Positive, negative, or both?

OR

2) Have someone start the car and let it run for a couple of minutes every couple of days?

Thanks in advance for your help!

a month shouldnt hurt anything..my car sat all winter, and i would start it from time to time...my truck sits ALL summer long, and i start it once a week, and it almost never moves until the snow falls..

Even if the car is old? It's a 97 Grand Am... it's not that old, considering it's a 97, but it's not at its peak condition either.

Besides, I wanna be on the safe side.

you could disconnect the battery if you want to be safe...but when a abttery just sits, it has the potential to go bad

If this is something eating at you, check your electrolyte levels in the battery and use a trickle charger.

Wal-Mart sells them rather cheap.
