Where is the auto transmission switch on a 1978 Pontiac firebird? My car won't turn over and I think it is the switch.

If its the neutral safety switch you are talking about it is activated be a rod type system going from the tranny up to the steering column, it rotates a ring on the column inside the car . I your car has headers this may have been taken off. Rotate all the way to left. It ius right behind the hub your steering wheel is attached too. If it was taken off you will not have back up lights. The actual neutral safety switch is inside the column.
