I'm 53 and I own a 2000 Firebird and a 95 Grand Am currently, I've owned several other G Ams and a couple other Firebirds (and lots of others, these are just my Pontiacs). This site seems to be pretty new, which is cool, because hopefully, lots of others will be joining and putting in their two cents worth. I'm an advanced amateur with several decades of knuckle busting. Hope to get a lot of other "motor heads" signed up soon, because I sometimes need advice, and I'm willing to provide what advice I can. Ever changed out a power window motor on a '95 G Am? I have, it's challenging, and not w/o peril. And why does my Firebird's headlights die every 90 days or so? Bad engineering or bad ground? Like I say, I could some good advice.

Hello all, nice site. My name is Cory. I've got a 1997 Firebird Formula 5.7L LT1 with a Six Speed Manual. Very fun and fast car. The only mod's right now is the muffler is gone and I've got it Y'd out for the dual exhaust, it also has a K&N air filter. I also have a 1993 Camaro Z28 but I'm trying to sell it. It has headers, a flowmaster muffler and a K&N air filter.
I'm 24. I've been a GM Technician for just over 3 years now. Anyway just saying hi.

I'm Mike. Former owner of a 2001 Grand Prix GTX. 2 days ago is caught fire and now theres nothing left but the rear bumper. The cause is unknown, but was pretty tough to see it go like that. :( But hopefully soon i'll be the proud new owner of a Firebird as soon as I get the insurance money back... A little backround on me. Got back from Iraq in Aug 04, currently in Tampa on reserve status waiting to go back to Active Duty. I hope I can add a little something to this message board and maybe come here to answer some questions I might have in the future.

Hey guys. I'm 21, live in Laval, QC. I'm a university student with barely any time on my hands, which is why I was wondering if anyone can help me out.

I need little help with my 97 Grand Am SE. I'm having a problem with engine over-heating... well not over-heating, but heating up more that it's supposed to. The needle often hits the 3/4 mark, sometimes higher. I'm thinking maybe it's the thermostat, but I haven't had time to check it myself. Oil changes are done every 4000 km, and the engine shows about 260,000 km (I know, it's a lot!!!). Anyone got any suggestions or tips? Would be GREEEEEATLY appreciated!!

In case you're wondering, 260,000 km is 156,000 miles.

welcome to the site!

as for the heating issue, if it is the thermostat, it will heat up, then drop down, then heat up, then drop down, so on...

Thanks Pat. As a matter of fact, that is what does... heat up, drop down, heat up, drop down, ... And, since I posted that message, I had the car checked, turns out it was the thermostat. Crisis avoided!! Thx 4 the help though!

What do you guys use on the rims (if anything) to prevent them from rusting in winter, or accumulating calcium and stuff like that? Do you go with some good ol' WD-40, or does it get more complicated than that?!

Hi,
Well after a couple of years with my first car a 96 Dodge stratus which I loved and put alot of money into,(car domain (http://www.cardomain.com/id/dodge199)) its time to move on so I am picking up an 03' grand prix se on monday! To start things off I was interested in getting clear corners on my car. I know I had to do the mod myself on my stratus is that the same deal on the prix or are there some manufacture ones available? any help would be appreciated and I'm looking forward to becomeing an active member of the Pontiac group!

i have a stratus as well, and the parts are a pain to find,...SLP makes more parts for the 3800 than all of the aftermarket parts for the stratus combined...

You mean the Grand Am that you claim is modded to the hilt at MF? HAHAHAHAHA. Isn't the head at least milled?
