Recently I had an eye-opening close call with my 1973 VW that got me to think that as long as I was going to drive a classic, I want a bigger, safer classic (and one that gets up to speed on the highway). There is a 1966 4 door Catalina with a 4-bbl. carb, 389 CID motor, and the legendary 400 trans for sale nearby. It sounds to me like a great car, but before I make go and offer, I would like a little input from some Pontiac experts.
I know what to look for when buying a volkswagen, but not a Tin Indian, so if anybody has tips on what to look for, they would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
-Mack

VW has been one of the reliable and solid German cars that ever hit the road! I think it is a good car too have especially if it is a classic.
