i own a 2003 aztek and im having a cooling problem. the car temp gauge gets really hot when the car is at a stop. when i start driving again it cools down. i thought maybe something was wrong with the fans like maybe they werent turning on but i checked while the car was on and the fans came on but they seemed like they shut off when the car was still warmer than normal. also when the heater is turned onto the defrost option (when air is taken from the engine bay instead of inside the cabin) only cool air is coming out even when the temp is at normal or above normal , but when i start driving wamer air comes out. im thinking maybe the thermostat is stuck. im more familiar working on 4 cyl import cars and this is actually the wifes car so any help would be great. thanks

I drive a 2001 aztek and this vehicle has always ran warmer than most cars I have driven. The dealership told me this is common with these types of cars. Are you having overheating issues?? Is this causing any major problems??

its not overheating yet but get pretty close. i either make sure i keep driving or turn the car off because i dont want it to heat. i dont think this is an issuse of normal car behavior tho.
