Just bought a used1999 Grand Prix to get back and forth to work. It only came with one key and no remote... Just wondering if anyone could tell me whatto look for so I know if this car had the option of remote entry before I go ahead and buy a remote. Just guessing that it did because the car has everything else but I would appreciate any help I can get. Thanks

since this car is 1999 it might or might not have a remote entry system. You can go to a pontiac dealer and ask them to look and see if it has the reciever under the hood and the proper wiring harness. I wonder if a carfax report will have that included as an option. I have a 96 Grand AM and had a place called Wolf Electronics put in a remote access system for about 100 dollars.

99 Grand Prix did not come with the FOB for remote keyless entry. You can however have it installed in you car at the dealership for a certain price.

My advice, go to any trustable electronics store and simply by either a command start or alarm system and add on the keyless entry feature. It should be alot cheaper and you will get more bang for your buck.
