Could anyone tell me what I am getting into swapping a Pontiac 350 with a SBC 350 ......things that will not fit.

Just don't do it, you're ruining a great Pontiac by putting Chevy parts in it. I don't mean to put you down or anything, but any fan of Firebird's will say not to do it.
