I'm restoring a 64 Grand Prix with 8 lug wheels and drums. The brake drums are now painted flat black but I don't know the correct finish - flat, matte, semigloss? Any advice on paint type? Also, use high temp primer before paint? Thanks.

 

Welcome to Pontiactalk Raelson. The 64 8 lug drums came Black-semi gloss, After the black is dry, Take a straight section of a paint stick and some, 320-wet/dry-wet and then Polish all 16 fins on each drum, It gets a nice edge and Polishes the fins at the same time. Good luck Randy. It might take some time, But the drums will look great.
