Default 1969 Pontiac ????

I owned a 69 Pontiac that was either a Custom S, Tempest, Lemans or ??? The thing that baffled me was that is had center posts on the windows. Full frame around the window. Anyone have any ideas on what it was and how many were made? I have NEVER seen the same car anywhere else....

I have found a few good vin identification for these cars. Try ultimate gto.com. I did this and found out my car is a 69 lemans 2door coupe hard top and where it was made. I have not been able to tell what engine originally came in this car. I read that as a hole, about 70,000+ in all in different trims. (Gto,lemans, conv.etc...) hope this helps.

There were lot of 2 door posts as they were called,a lot of tempests, lemans, and t37,s, and a few gto,s, all from 1968 to 72, a lot of them had the overhead cam 6 cylinder in them, and pretty gutsy for a 6 cylinder, but they had cam problems, if you did not change oil regulary.I had a couple, they were a dime a dozen.Cars were cheap, had to pay to junk them, and many were wrecked.we would go from norther wis to Milwaukee, down new highway 41, 85,90 mles an hour, very few cops, tickets were cheap, and mostly warning tickets, , cars had bias ply tires, engines always turns 3000-4000 RPM highway speed, 10 miles to the gallon, and if there was a gas war,you could get 5 gallons for a buck, and a glass or dish, and you had more money then you have today., a good job paid 90.00 dollars a week, after taxes.,1969 GTO were $3900,to 4300 loaded,a lot of accidents in those days were fatal, because of road racing, and a lot of alcohol..firs I bought a 69 Z28,6 months later we to Vietnam,Stored car, came back drove car, rode like a lumber wagon,But fast as hell, traded in for a 70GTO 400,4 speed,2 weeks later,Drunk and fell a sleep, hit bridge, almost ripped car in half, from guard rail, car had 1400 miles on it {STUPID}, bought a 1969 Elcamino, 307 3 speed, drinking, hit 1968 camero in rear that was parked, totaled camero, and smeared front of elcamino back to heater core,on right side. bought a 1969 chevelle,396 4 speed burn out, sold 396, took front frame, and clip, and welded on to El,camino, and drove it for many years, after several cams and lifters, and clutches., then bought a 74 GMC sprint,350 3 speed.
