Wow i just got my first car also. Its a 1983 fire bird. It also has a 350 under the hood. There not much u can do to save money on gas no a days. 350 will cost u a lot. I think its worth the nice engine though!

just make sure that the engine is running properly...have it tuned up, proper maintenance, so on...

best way is to especially make sure all your filters are changed regularly, and the key is to not punch the throttle down constantly which i know from personal experience is hard do to. but believe it or not, my TBI 305 RS 89 Camaro used to get better mileage than my 2000 Silverado. go figure

ive been trying to go easy on the throttle lately, and my nonner has been getting 24 around town and around 26-27 on the highway

thats the key is to not mash the throttle constantly

Proper alignment!!! [sm=icon_cheers.gif] My GP's gas mileage went from 22.3mpg ave as indicated on the DIC before the 4 wheel alignment (3 weeks ago) to a consistant 23.0 mpg ave. Not significant, but every little bit helps.
