Hi, I have a 72 Lemans with a 350th in it, supposed to be rebuilt for bracket racing, no paperwork on it, no info 'cause the guy got killed in an acident. Wehn you put it in drive(or reverse) it won't start to pull untill you hit about 22ooRPM, has a tach on the steering column, if you nail it ,it goes like stink, if you try to drive in normal stop and go traffic, it jumps/slips in and out of gear, untill your going about 45 to 50...is this just because of a High Stall Speed converter?....or is there another problem?....I DROVE IT HOME FOR 240 MILES AND IT CRUISES FINE AT 55 TO 60......please help?

it''s called a stall converter if you drive it normal you will fry the tranny unless you drive around in low gear and keep your rpm''s above 2500 you can change the converter but you would have to put a smaller camshaft in the engine
