I am looking at buying a G6 coupe, And I need some input on the car. How well rounded is the G6? I would like to know more about these problems i am hearing about, like problems with the steering, brake problems, I heard about these problems here http://townhall-talk.edmunds.com/direct/view/.ef950cc. Can someone give me some more information on the g6. I will probabbly get an 07 coupe, Couple more things, do they got fins or spoilers for the G6, and is there manual transmission for the g6, or are they all automatic. any help would be great

I have a G6 convertible. I love it. I have not had any big problems with it. I have a rattle w/the top and I had a sensor go bad which was replaced in one day. Thanks for the link you posted. It has some good info in it. Part of the problem w/ some forums is you have people pile on about how bad a product is & when someone doesn't have a problem and enjoys their car they are lambasted. Each model has it's own problems. Over all the G6 is a good car. Its fast and the steering is pretty tight for a car in its price range. There are aftermarket products for it. As for the trans, you can only get an Automatic w/it. It does come w/the manu-matic style. It is a nice feature to play w/ when you want and you don't need to shift. It allows for the remote start too.

I wouldn't look at a G6/G5. They are a pile of JUNK!!! My Daughter bought a new 2006 G6 in November 2005. Motor is a 4 cylinder. The steering column, electric power steering assist was replaced at 45000 miles. At 60000 miles the head was replaced because number 2 cylinder had a out of round valve seat. All the exhaust guides were loose. My Daughter is trying to pay off her school loans and save some money so she can get on her own. What money she save went into fixing the piece of junk call a G6. This car is driven 80 to 90 miles a day....98% highway miles. I do the regular preventive maintance. I can change transmission oil in all my autos except the G6....has to go to dealer and pay them $125. Pontanic used to have good autos.....G6 is an electronic nightmare.
