i have a 97 grandam GT couple 3.1 6cyl. 108 k

i just started to notice that the transmission is slipping around 30.
if you go from 0 mph and are traveling pass 30 it would slip, but if you travel like in the city and your maybe at like 29mph and just hit 30 then there is a slight delay. the engine rpm with go up but the car will stay on 30mph for maybe 2-3 seconds.

I just got it, so i might just sell it and not worry about it.

but.. people want me to at least check in to it see if the problem can be solved.

Some said a transmission flush- its a high mileage, i dont want to cause any more damage to the trans..so no

Fluid drain and put new fluid in..- both of these i dont think are necessary because my fluid is pink. and wouldnt that be sort of like flushing? and maybe a chance to mess up my high mileage transmission?

I assume no leaks because fluid says full, but thats after it sitting over night and me riding around the block and then checking it on a summer day.. should i run a little longer? or is my reading is about as accurate as it can get.

Lucas? Anyone with a GRAND AM ever tried it? successful? no? if so, how long?

as for solenoids and valves and all that how much could that cost to replace? an estimate? i know every car is different but what about an estimate?

How long can a slipping transmission last under it doesnt go in to the next gear at all? anyone?

some please respond, unfortunatley i need this car to be dependable.
