I was thinkin about buying a firebird i test drove one yesterday and it was smooth. First i have a couple of questions, some guy at work told me dont get a firebird because their transmission is known to go out very easily i dont know if thats the truth but would like to know. i also heard that they guzzle some gas now that wouldnt be good for me cause im a delivery guy. I would like to hear some peoples comments on this matter please. Another thing it was a 99 75k, and they only selling it for 9gs, is that a good deal. Please respond and let me know your thoughts. Thanks

never heard of the trans problem but is it a V6 or V8, and is it manual or auto?

9 thousand for a V6 seems a little steep IMO

9k is steep for a V6 with those miles....they are very smooth cars...I have a 98 with the same drivetrain....85k miles....the car runs smooth as butter....especially with the 5spd...theyve got great torque for a 3.8....Now for the gas mileage....itll vary depending on how heavy your foot is...I can get between 20 to 25 mpg with my car....but I drift down the hills and keep it in nuetral as much as I can for that...but I average around 20 with a lot of calm city driving...

Just dont get a red one.....unless you want a lot of attention
