95 formula a/c compressor question
 

1995 V8 5.7L firebird forumla

My compressor clutch blew off a week ago and I had to get it towed because the belt was not spinning so I got it towed to a friends house so i wasn't paying a ton to get it towed to my house which is far away

so here i removed the compressor and put a replacement pulley in it's place.
My decision is to completely remove the a/c system because it robs me of that small amount of horsepower and it is a convertible so i'm not really in need of an a/c system but i do not have the time, space, or tools to do it at my friends house so i need to drive it about an hour to my house tomorrow.

Will anything be damaged other then the a/c system which at this point i do not care about?

also i noticed that the battery seems to be draining and then recharging randomly could this be because of the cord connecting to the a/c compressor is just left there dangling? Maybe the alternator just went at a coincidental time? not to sure... What can i do about that?
