03 Aztek, no start. Help please.

Hello all, what a great forum you guys have going on here!!!

To cut to the problem here. I used to wrench on some cars about 10 years ago and wow have things changed since then! Anyway, a friend of mine asked me to look at his 03 Aztek for him. He had it a dealer and they could not find the problem without charging him by the hour, and after $500 into a diag fee, he towed it home. Problem is this, the engine will crank over fine, strong cranking, but no fire, it will NOT start. The vehicle has a nice 55psi of fuel pressure, that does not bleed off. It has strong spark, and good compression (only checked #1 cylinder for time being for spark and compression). So, usually, when a car has spark, fuel and compression, it fires up :) unfortunately not this time! So, also I noticed his brake lamps stay on all the time and do not shut off. The vehicle has new plugs and wires, a crank sensor and cam sensor. Crank sensor should be okay since it has spark...

So my question is, without me being in the game for awhile here, is there known problems out there for problems like this? I would lean along the lines of a faulty PCM probably, but dont want to jump to conclusions...Any idea's?

Thanks for the free post!!!

I think the problem is in fuel supply. I am not sure but I think.
