my dome light stays on if it's in the on or door position but if it's in off position it stays off. the lights under dash stay on. the mirror lights stay on when the switch is on off. i've been having to hook and unhook the battery to keep from the battery dying. any suggestions on what it could be and how to fix it? for a while my car has been dying when i try to start is sometimes and have to try again last few weeks i've smelled a burnt smell but not since the lights started coming on also haven't had further problems yet with it starting. a few months ago my stereo fried and it blew a fuse not sure if either of these issues are connected or not.

 

Check your dimmer switch/**** for the instrument panel lights. If it's moved to the max. position, it turns on the dome/interior lights. If that's not the problem, check all the door switches. Maybe one of them is broken or in need of adjustment. (remember to re-install your bulbs for testing)
*Also, I'd look closely at the dome light itself.. mine has the buttons that are kinda hidden.. you have to push the light itself which is the on/off switch.
