security system problem 97 SSEi
 

My 97 SSEi sometimes will not start because the securtiy system engages. I have talked to some other Bonneville owners who have similiar problems. Pontiac tells me that it is not an easy or inexpensive fix so I have just dealt with the inconvenience of waiting for it to reset itself. The security light glows all the time when the engine is running. Wish I could override the system. Any ideas?

first question does it have a remote start if not does the key have a black chip with a small metal centre on the shaft of the key ???
