Default 98 Grand Prix GT Radio

Hey all,

I recently purchased a 98 Grand Prix GT and I love it. I am a Dodge guy at heart and really wanted to purchase an Avenger...but man am I glad I went with Pontiac. The car is sumply awesome in every way.

Anyway...my radio display (upper right corner) is very dim. Everything else is bright except for the disply screen. I can't see the time/radio station. I tried turning the dimmer switch up and down, but it still stays dark.

Any ideas?? Is there a bulb that can be replaced or something like that?

Thanks,
-Nick-

There is a small light bulb behind the radio display. I know, I have the same exact problem. I took the bulb out, but the pontiac dealer's do not carry them, neither to auto part stores. Pontiac wanted me to buy a whole new radio for $450...yah right. I can do w/out the light bulb, even though its annoying!

I have a 2000 and had the same problem. The number for the light bulb is16208443. This is the number for the bulb in my radio, if your car is older or newer the number may be different. You can order it from your Pontiac or GM dealer. Mine cost about $10.00.
