Valve knock at 2000 rpm.

My 04 GP non-supercharged has a "knock" at 2000 rpm and light throttle. The car has 90000 miles on it. I use only full synthetic, regularly check oil level, air cleaner, etc. I only use name brand gas and occasionally put drygas in the tank. I am going to replace the plugs and wires to see if that helps. Any other ideas? Knock sensor maybe?

RE: Valve knock at 2000 rpm.

how hard have you ran your car? it may be a rod that's causing the knock if you have been running your car too hard or because of how many miles it has on it.

RE: Valve knock at 2000 rpm.

I do not abuse the car at all. Maybe twice a month I punch it to the floor. I like to think that I drive normally. I do 70-75 on the highway. I would think a rod would knock upon startup, which it doesn't. It really has me baffled.

Thanks, Tom

It could be the knock sensor, hope the car is running great been having trouble with my car too reaching certain RPM.
