Default shattered panoramic roof panel

Was driving down the road at about 40 mph when we heard a piercing shattering noise. Glass came in the car and little slivers were flying everywhere. One even got in my eye. Thank God no kids were in the back seat.

Drove to our dealership, which happened to be about 3 miles down the road and told them what happened. The 2nd panel in the 3 panel sunroof shattered. We weren't behind anything that could have kicked up a rock. Needless to say we were stunned. It is a 2006 G6 GT. ONly have had it for 10 months. We are convinced that it has something to do with the vibrations from the wind. It was a windy day.

The dealership said they would fix it this time, but if it happens again it will have to be covered by insurance. If this is a defect in the engineering, then the company really needs to look into it.

Has anyone else had a problem like this?

We want to let the engineers know that this is an unsafe feature and we want it resolved. They need to put laminated glass, not tempered in the sunroof of this car. I do not want kids sitting in the back seat and have them get poured on by glass if this happens again...

Any ideas of how to get this investigated by the gm engineers?
