Pontiac distributor timing, clockwise, counter-clockwise
 

Which way is it for advancing the timing. I thought this would be a simple question but I'm seeing it answered both ways all over the place. I would think since the distributor rotates counter-clockwise that advancing would require turning the distributor counter-clockwise?
