91 pontiac 6000
 

My kid brother has a 91 pontiac 6000 that from the sound of it has a bad heater core. He lives in Utah, so he should probably fix it rather than just bypassing the core. Does anyone know the difficulty of this job? I'd do it for him myself but I live in California. Is it pretty deep under the dash or is it a reasonable job for an intelligent person with little mechanical experience? Or even better, is this one of the intelligent designs that allows for access thru the engine compartment? I'd hate for hime to waste 25 bucks on the repair manual only to find out it's something out of his league that he needs to take to a shop anyway. Thanks for your help.
