Cooling system 05 Pontiac Grand Am
 

This is my first post on these forums and If it is in the wrong spot please feel free to move it or let me know and I will edit/move it.

I have an 05 Pontiac Grand Am 3.4 that is overheating sporadically ever since my wife drove it through a deep puddle. Basically after the incident the radiator started steaming and it dumped all of the coolant through the overflow. I filled it up and we drove it for about 4-5 days with no repeat then it purged all the coolant and overheated. I am not really a car guy but after reading on line I figured it was either the water pump or the thermostat so I changed them both out and replaced the hoses. While flushing the radiator it again purged all the water and cleaner. So at this point I really don't have any idea and would appreciate any suggestions.

I forgot to mention that the heater is only blowing cold.
