LOW OIL PRESSURE AT IDLE

1996 TRANS AM WS-6 ...... OIL PRESSURE AT IDLE IS VERY LOW TO ZERO AFTER WARMING UP ABOUT 20 MINUTES. PRESSURE AT SPEED: 3000-3500 RPM IS ABOUT 30-35PSI. OIL IS FULL AND NO BURNING. MILEAGE IS 105,000. DEALER AND ANOTHER MECHANIC SUGGEST OIL PUMP AND RELIEF VALUE. TOTAL PRICE 450.00 DOES THIS SOUNDS CORRECT TO YOU GUYS?

The diagnosis sounds correct. Something is wrong with your oil pump. I don't know if your oil filter could be plugged and affect the oil pressure in any way (I doubt it).
