Upper intake manifold
have a 2009 pontiac montana 3.9l that requires a fuel injector replacement. I have loosened all (?) the bolts, connectors and hoses on the intake plenum but can't remove the plenum. It seems it's hung up on something in the back left hand corner near the generator. Have I missed an attachment point in the back left hand corner? It is very hard to see back there. The intake plenum can be lifted and wiggled so it cannot be attached by a bolt to the engine block.
that is about it. I have tried looking in the back left hand corner with a mirror and light but can see very little. If I knew exactly where to look I am sure I could see the source of the problem

Have you pulled the engine forward? If it's anything like the 3400 engine, you're better off removing the two front engine struts and using a ratchet strap to tilt the whole block forward, it really helps with access to the rear of the engine.
Yes thank you photon. I have finally completed the major work and hook up the battery again. Somewhere along the line I damaged the coolant temperature connector. Have NO idea how that happened. Picked up a couple at the local wrecker for $5. Will solder one in this afternoon and the start her up and see what happens. It's been a long ordeal for this old man of 83! Wish me luck.
Had a real issue trying to get her started. I was not assembling the fuse box correctly so was not getting any power from the underhood fuse box. There is a real trick to the reassembly which I did not see until I went to the wreckers to pull some fuse box connectors. Today I assembled the fuse box correctly and now she is purring like a kitten. Praise God!
