Hello and some quick help, please
Good morning to all,
I am new to vintage Pontiacs (currently drive and show a Mustang fastback that I restored over the past five years) and I am in need of quick help before I make any major mistakes.
I am going to look at and probably purchase a red 64 Lemans convertible, later this week. Is there a code on the door data plate that would confirm that the car is a factory original red car and not a repaint? Could someone tell me what that code would be? Also, wouldn't a factory original red car have had a red interior, or possibly a black interior or white interior? What I am seeing in the pictures of this car is a white seats, but black steering wheel and dash and carpeting. I would have expected to see was red seats, carpet, steering wheel.
Ultimately, I will purchase the PHS documentation, but factory correct originality will determine whether I buy this specific car or not.
Thanks for allowing a new guy to jump in asking for help.
