Left hand thread stud! Help!!!!!!!!!!!
HI!! We are working on a customers all stock 1960 Pontiac Bonneville..... one of the wheel studs broke and it happens to be a left hand thread wheel stud! The customer does not want to convert all to Right Hand Threads.... if anyone has a number of someone we can locate these from, I would greatly appreciate it!! I have tried Dorman CO., Carquest (O'rielly) Auto parts, Local parts stores, Hot Rod shops here in Tucson, AZ even trailer/wheel suppliers- and we cannot find one!!! PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!! :o

unless you can find some NEW oid stock versions... and you did not say if it was a front or a rear stud... as there are slight differenced in the knurl diameter...
the rears in a right hand thread are 610-191 with a knurl diameter of .621 and a shoulder length of 5/16 and an length of 1.5 inches. RIGHT hand thread.. the fronts in a right hand thread are 610-092 with a knurl diameter of .624 a shoulder length of 5/16" and 1-5/16 length... just changing one stud to a right hand might have to be all you can do... if you can find a matching lug nut.. since you seem to be in arizona.. have you tried desert valley auto wrecking.. perhaps you could have one knocked out.. by screwing 2 nuts flat side to flat side to spread the load on the threads.. then whacking it loose with a hammer.. using two wrenches to loosen the two nuts to free it.. . |
