What should Ifix?
I own a Pontiac Vibe 2003 1.8L with automatic transmission. It has the check engine light on always. While I'm driving and the car is in its upper shift (4th) and I want to slow down to 15 mph it starts to shake, hold, and make a hard noise. I went to various mechanics and they aren't sure of what it is. They've checked the car and it shows problems with the code p0770 shift solenoid E malfunction. Some of them suggest that the car should be scanned at the General Motors and others say at Toyota ( since it has the pieces from toyota). I went to the General Motors near my house and they told me that since it had a lot of mileage ( 167,000) they could not do it. Then I tried going to Toyota to see if they could tell me what was wrong with the car and how to fix it but they said they couldn't do it because the parts were toyota but the codes weren't. I've thought of going to a further GMC that hopefully can help me. What do you suggest I should do with the car? What is in need of getting fixed? Thanks a lot for you patience, attention and opinion.
I have cleaned the idle speed control, changed the TPS, changed one solenoid(can't remember which, sorry). Already changed the oil and the filter of the cramk.
