I just bought an ‘81 Turbo Trans Am cheap. Was going to use it as a parts car but can’t bring myself to part it or cut it up. While taking the carpet out I not only found the greyish carpet and black rubbery sound deadener but also under that was a white thick cotton looking wrapped in thin plastic running from the rear to the firewall. Does anyone know if this is oem? Take it easy on me its the first time pulling carpet on a 2nd gen done plenty of 3rd gen and they don’t have it.
