Default Upgrading a 400

Okay I have the factory 400 out of the 76 anniversary TA I'm restoring and due to rust and wear I've got just the bare block now that's bored .060 over. My dad has said the 400 and 455 used the same block so am I able to just get the crank from a 455 and some .060 over pistons to make it a 467? I'd like to get the most cubic inches possible to compete with my dads 598 BBC in his 72 TA so I'm also looking at what would be the best cam choice and aluminum heads to try to really make this motor a beast so I'm open to any and all suggestions.

Get the crankshaft from a Pontiac 455, have a machinist grind the journals down so it will fit a small block Pontiac. Use 455 pistons.
