is it possible to take out the governor in my 1994 firebird??? if so could i do it myself?? if i cant take it out myself how much do you think it would cost??

 

Speed limiter is controlled by the computer. You can do it yourself IF you have programming software or any good tuner can do it for you if you don't.
I know it can be done with LT1-Edit ( I use this myself) - www.carputing.com. Hypertech programmer I believe can also do it I believe.
As far as a price for someone doing it for you I would guess no more than $100 if that's all you want done. If you are planning on keeping the car you really should look into getting your own programming / scanning tools. They will say you bundles of $$ in diagnostic charges to find out why the SES light is on.
