Default 02 GP GT 3.8l Serp Belt R&R ??

I could use a tip on releasing the tension on the idler wheel. I put a 15mm wrench on it and it just Did Not want to move under pretty good force. I got nervous and stopped. I appreciate any help. Thank You. Harold H.

[&:]i have done this a few times over the years - i use a socket and braker bar on the pulley bolt and hold it up while you slip the belt off. follow the diagram for the belt and slip the new belt under the pulley.
you can do it easily . I have also used a large screw driver under the pulley but the socket works better. good luck

I appreciate your reply Jerry, so, I was right in the fact that pulling up on that 15mm nutwill release the tension on the belt? Man that requires a LOT of pull. The coolant overflow tank stops me from putting a socket on it. I can see it want to pivot but man....I am afraid of breaking it. I have done belts on my fullsized Ford van and a Contour that went much easier. HH

Just a FYI ... I found The trick on this was to remove the coolant overflow tank and pivot it around and lay it on the motor. That allowed me to get a long socket wrench on that nut. This allowed much more finger forearm room. Harold H.
