Hello everyone.....I have a 1965 2dr bonneville coupe 389 tri-power, the engineturns but will not start. I prime the carbs and she will fire right up and keep running but when i turn off the bonne and try to restart her, she just turns and turns. Once again i have to prime her with a little gas and she fires right up. Does this sound like a fuel pump issue????? Your help would be greatly appreciated

 

Hi have you found your problem yet? You can check the pump by disconnecting the fuel line at the filter and run it to a coffee can. turn the engine over and fuel should flow into the can. I had a similar deal in my GTO. The pump eccentric was broken, it is on the end of the cam & turns the fuel pumpwhen the engine is running. HTH Dave K.
