2001 Ruff Idel/Dies
I have a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am with a 2.4 liter engine. The car has a ruff idle or dies on me while in gear at a stoplight/parking lot. It will also just die on me when in park and idling, or sometimes when starting the car, it starts and quickly dies. After dying it always starts right up. The problem is an intermitted problem and the car has to be warm up. The car is not throwing any fault codes. It could run for a week with not having a problem, then happens for a period of time and then goes away. The dealership recently replaced the ignition/pass-lock cylinder computer (second one in 19 months) and the BCM computer about 4 months ago. I have replaced the plugs, boots, and fuel filter, checked the air filter and looked for any vacuum leaks. Does anyone have any ideas where to look at next?
