I'm a newbie to this forum, and here's my question.
A friend owns a '94 Grand Am, with 3100 V6 and automatic transaxle. How difficult is it to swap out the trans with a junkyard unit?

A local mechanic says it may involve re-programming the computer which will cost more money, etc.

I personally did an engine swap on my '94 Bonneville and it was not terribly challenging.
