throttle position sensor or idle air valve

Default throttle position sensor or idle air valve

My pontiac is accelerating when I want to stop and idling over 2000 rpms. Do I need to replace the throttle position sensor or the idle air valve? Anyone experienced the same problem and resolved it?

had similar problem with a 90 ga i had..i did all the dianosing per manuals and found the idle circuit in the ecm was bad.had to replace the ecm.
