I have a 99 Grand Prix GT and damn near every day every time I drive it the key gets stuck in the ignition to the point that I cannot take it out. I heard that it's some kind of part in the ignition that's stopping the key from comming out but my thing is does anyone know how to disable it? Pictures and or links will be helpful. I make keys at a hardware store and most of the time when people have this problem its because when a copy key is made it isn't brushed so little bits of metal are left on it and come off in the ignition. The best thing is to try a little bit of key lube graphite that works great.
Even if you don't have any copy keys dirt and other things can easily get into the ignition, I'd try the graphite lube. Warning do not try oil based lubes they may make it better for a day or two but they make it worse in the long run. [align=left] [/align]
