1999 Grand Prix, 3.8. The engine has a whine to it while driving only and especially when its cold. After a few minutes of driving or after the engine warms up it gets quieter but never really goes away completely. Is it possible that its the Alternator ? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

It definetely comes from the alternator area. I've noticed some GPs whine more than others. My moms 03 and a co-workers 01 both have a louder whine than my 99
