Default 301 crank, 400 block

I am wondering if a 301 crank will bolt into a 400 block. I can get rods to fit if so, but i am trying to build a 4.12" bore, 3" stroke, Ram air headed smallblock of about 320 cubes to make any chev 350 run and hide. I have heard the 301 has the same 3" mains as a 400, but then also i have heard it has 2.50"s. Any help is greatly appreciated.

i guess it needs the crank turned, rods resized and new bearings and gaskets before it will fit.
