Default '68 400 in my '55 starchief custom catalina

Hi All,
I'm new to this site, and new to Pontiacs as well. My question is regarding a '55 Pontiac I'd just bought which has a '68 400/th400. The motor is mounted beneath the timing cover, and the tranny is mounted at the rear with a nice aftermarket tube mount, bolted in the x-frame. There are two 'torque chains' (for lack of a better term), bolted from the bellhousing to the frame on either side. Although it seems stable, I'm wondering if there might be a better way to mount the driveline without the chains, and without any major surgery. Were the original drivetrains mounted ina similarfashion? I don't see any frame horns as used in the '55 to '57 Chevys to mount the bell to the frame. Anyone ever see assembly manuals for '55 Pontiacs? I've been looking on ebay, but haven't even seen a repop of the manual listed. Any input is greatly appreciated!! Thanks!
