The only replacement spare tires I can find for my '03 Sunfire cost between $150-$200, all on eBay. I'm finding no new T115/70D14 tires for sale anywhere.

Am I right in thinking that the lower-cost option of just buying an extra full-sized spare, is just as good? I would just need to buy a new rim, take it to a tire shop, and have them put a new tire on it, yes?

The only drawback seems to be the extra space that a full-sized spare would take, which is okay with me.
