Default Trac Off Light Is on

I recently took my car in to get it repaired for the left brake light, and the repair guy noticed my Trac Off light was on. I had seen it before but it would always go off. He said it's a costly repair but since we live in Hawaii, we really didn't need to worry about it. I'm just wondering if he's right?? He said you really only need that for extreme cold weather like snow and what not. Please help me.

Default RE: Trac Off Light Is on

i've been told it's a sign the wheel bearing is going out or make sure the sensors on the wheel are clean and plugged in need to be careful if the trac control kicks in it will stall the engine and it might not start again till it's fixed
