Default "Mouldy" smell in trunk

I have a mouldy smell in the trunk of my 2000 Sunfire. The trunk lid is tight and have checked around the trunk to see if I can see daylight when I am inside the trunk when the lid is closed, but see nothing to indicate a leak. Is this a weak point with the Sunfire?? Thanks for any replies.

Well. On a good day pull back the carpeting as far as you can take a good bright flashlight and a buddy. Get in the trunk with the flashlight and close the trunk all the way tight. Then have your buddy turn the hose on the trunk area. Give it a few minutes before you start looking. You don't always have to see light to get water inside of your car. Then look around in the trunk with your light. If after 10 minutes you don't see any water. Give up. Then roll down all your windows and fold the back seat forward to let the trunk get air into it, make sure the carpets are pulled back and make sure the sun is out to cause heat. Do this more than once. Do it all day. This will evaporate all of the moisture in the trunk; the moldy smell should go away too. Then if the moldy smell comes back try and find the wettest spot in the trunk and trace back from there...Hope this helps..
