Although it's like an old friend to her I think age has caught up to my daughters grand am. She's had it 14 yrs and has 101K miles. Issues started with water pump leaking. It's the 2.4L and $800-$900 (3 estimates)to fix. The mechanic noted multiple oil leaks from the engine: gaskets, sensors... Needs brakes I could do that. There's a place on the frame to jack it up to do the brakes but it was so badly rusted the jack tore a big piece off. The frame(sub frame?) is totally rusted everywhere. The jack went through this frame area and there is a large quantity of rust debris everywhere on the floor. I think the totally rusted underneath is the final straw. looking for opinions. This must be risky to drive??
