I pulled my engine (68 Firebird 350) I noticed when the heads were off 4 or 5 of the coolant passages on each side of the block were never drilled to meet their respective holes in the heads (casting 17).

Is this some great master design to balance the flow? I would like to drill them out to increase the cooling flow thru the heads.

Any comments?
