Default 2000 Grand Am GT

I have a 2000 Grand AM GT. It died one day when I went into the bank. I had a mechanic suggest it was the fuel pump. That has been replaced. The car started and I ran it for about 10 min, shut it off, then tried to restart it and i got nothing. The battery then went dead and I had to jump it. Once the battery was charged I tried to start it and it acts like it wants to start but wont quite get there. I got another opinion that it might be the alternator??? Any other suggestions would be great. Thanks!

definitely sounds like the alternator to me, not a doubt in my mind. i believe your best deal will be autozone at $150, its about a 20 minute install with basic hand tools assuming you have some degree of mechanical capability.

Thanks for the post. I will definitely get that installed. I had to do one on my blazer a few months back. This is for the fiance. Thanks again!
