knocking

i have a 2004 grand prix gt with 36000 miles and in the morning when i start it it ticks and knocks and then after you drive it around you really cant hear it as much anyone know why or what it is

well when it sits overnight, the oil settels. the knocking is just your rockers,not a big deal.the oil has to warm up and get flowing through the block. so its really no big deal
